Victoria and Westminster lies to the south-east of Hyde Park and the latter is home to the UK’s most famous building, Buckingham Palace, it is also home to the headquarters of Transport for London at Windsor House, and New Scotland Yard, headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Service. More recently, tech giants and creative start-ups have also injected vitality and excitement into SW1. Microsoft and Google's London headquarters are now based in offices on Buckingham Palace road.
In recent years, the Victoria and Westminster area has benefited from a wealth of new luxury residential developments meaning that there are an abundance of retail and entertainment spaces including Cardinal Place and Nova Food, which house some of the world’s trendiest restaurants and luxury brands and cater to those that now live, work and play in SW1.
Bookended by Westminster to the East, Pimlico to the South and Belgravia to the West, Victoria and Westminster is home to some of London's most affluent areas as well as leafy parks and historic buildings. Here you will find the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral, as well as Whitehall which is lined with Ministries and Departments almost all the way up to Trafalgar Square. The district has London's most densely populated collection of famous landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, London Eye and Big Ben.
London's transport system clusters around Victoria which serves as a gateway to Gatwick airport, South London and beyond as well as key London business districts such as the West End and The City. There's virtually nowhere in London as well connected as Victoria. Additional key London underground stations in the area include St James’s Park and Westminster.
